Chelsea fans more loyal than west ham fans, says Lampard. Are they?

One fan working for Chelsea Fans Channel put the Blues great on the spot by asking him what he thought summed up a typical Chelsea fan.

'From my personal experience, once you're part of Chelsea it's with you forever.

'I think they're loyal. I remember when I was playing at West Ham and at one stage they were probably booing about 5 players from our own team.

'I cant remember many of the players that our fans have stood there and booed. Torres having a difficult time, Shevchenko having a difficult time. Week after week the fans got behind them.

'There's a class about the club and I know sometimes people try to give Chelsea fans a bit of a bashing for certain reasons, and I'm always the first one to stand up.

OK Lampard has got form in slagging us off and being childish over the years. Looking at this quote however and perhaps he has a point on us booing our own players at times... Does he read this board?

I make him right. But then again it's easy to get behind one world class player who is having a dip in form, when you have a few dozen more waiting in the wings - and that you're still winning matches and trophies.

But his own abuse from a certain section of WH supporters no doubt hurt him, being 19 at the time, so I can why he feels the need to make the point.

Its hardly having a dig, as apart from Man City who else did he play for? and to be fair hes got a point, when it comes to booing we seem to out do ourselves in recent years, mind you there been plenty to boo at !!!!, still something i would never do to my own team but each to there own.

I never like to hear our fans boo any player but he as usual is talking a load of bollocks.
Ok, let's imagine they replicate our form and win 3 of their first 20 games this season and let's see the class and loyalty.
Have always said if they had had the last 20 years that we have they would be playing in front of 12,000 each week.

What sums up a typical Chelsea fan?

These days I'd say a person who wants to pretend they LOVE football without knowing the first thing about it. I have several in work who struggle to even hold a proper conversation about it but can't wait to tell me when they have a ticket for the Charity Shield.

Oh and they will claim they have ALWAYS supported Chelsea their whole lives, so much so that I reckon Chelsea's attendance in the 80's must have been north of 200,000 every week.

I liked Lampard. I don't mind admitting it and I was ashamed of the WH fans that boo'd him. They were cunts then and totally wrong about him. Now of course it has turned into a joint hatred but to boo any kid just because his family managed WH was stupid and Lampard did not start it...
